Welcome to Dwyer Chiropractic
Your health and well-being are our only priority, and as such, we will strive to give you the best possible treatment to ensure a speedy recovery.
Many patients present with shoulder and wrist pain, hip, knee and ankle pain. Manual therapy has been shown to be very effective as a primary/conservative treatment option.
What to expect
Here at Dwyer Chiropractic, we offer a variety of treatment options.
For those of you who like the traditional 'manual' chiropractic adjustment with the 'pop' felt in the joint, then you'll be happy to know we are well trained in all areas of the spine including all the joints in the arms and legs. A lot of patients are surprised when they ask "oh you probably don't look at shoulders or knees - I'll just ask the Dr" and we reply with "no, you're in the right place - we see a lot of patients like you with non-back related issues". In fact most patients present with an area of concern that is not back related.
If the thought of a 'popping' sound is too much for you, or if we decide that a lower force option would result in a better outcome, then we'll choose an appropriate treatment method that will give you the best possible result.
Sometimes your complaint only requires massage, stretching and advice. We start everyone with low force treatment, but usually patients present to us because their pain is not going away and they've already tried everything they can do at home by themselves. In those stubborn cases where self massage, stretching, anti inflammatories, pain killers and rest is not helping, we will discuss how best to get you moving better with less pain as soon as possible.
We now have the most advanced therapeutic laser in the world available to help us heal you quicker. It increases blood flow, reduces inflammation and aids in collagen repair. We find that it excells in the management of arthritic joint pain ie: knees and hands.
If we feel that we can help you, then we won't waste any more time - we'll start treatment straight away on the same day. If your complaint requires any imaging, then we can refer you for xrays, or back to your GP for other studies such as CT, ultrasound or MRI.
